Devin Boyle, a 2018 graduate of Lake Mary High School, will compete for the Falcons in what will be the inaugural season for the Men's Cross-Country program. Boyle is the son of Shawn and Tina Boyle from Lake Mary, Florida. Some of his accolades include freshman record holder in cross-country, First Team All-Conference, Conference champion in the 4x800 meter relay, member of the FACA All Star cross country team, and a four-time letter winner in track and cross country while at Lake Mary High where he specialized in the 800 meters and 1600 meters. His personal bests are 1:59.53 in the 800 meters and 4:26.34 in the 1600 meters, and 9:56.09 in the 3200 meters. In cross-country, he helped his team to place 5th in the Florida State Championships during his freshman year, 9th in his sophomore year, and 12th in his senior year.
Coach Judy Wilson commented on the signing of Boyle, "Devin has run some solid times in high school and we look forward to working with him over the next two years. He saw the value in choosing Daytona State College as a way to further develop as a student and an athlete."
The cross-country program begins in August of 2018 for both men and women and both squads will compete against teams across all levels, from NCAA Division I, II, and III, and NAIA, as well as NJCAA schools.
