The no. 13 ranked Daytona State Falcons played their second game in Lancaster, South Carolina facing off against USC-Lancaster.
The Falcons outshot the Lancers 17-5 resulting in a 2-1 victory over the Lancers. The Falcons record improves to 2-0 on the season.
Hector Moreno would grab his second goal of the weekend assisted by freshmen, Giovanni Donzetti in the first half. Just moments into the second half, Josue Youta got what would be the deciding goal in the match.
The Lancers made a push late in the second half and scored from a corner kick with 12 minutes remaining in the game.
Coach Joe after the two matches in South Carolina, "We set a goal to return home with 6 points, and we did just that. Playing back-to-back versus two tough opponents in the middle of the day was as tough a task as it gets. There is still room to improve, but there is no doubt in my mind that this group will continue to grow together to achieve great things."
Up next for the Falcons is the home opener versus Thomas University JV on Wednesday, September 4th at 2pm.
