Moreno Becomes Second Men’s Soccer Player to Earn NJCAA and USC All-American Honors

Daytona State College men's soccer player Hector Moreno has been named to both the NJCAA and United Soccer Coaches First Team All-American lists.

When asked about making both lists, Moreno said, “I am truly grateful to God for the opportunity to receive two important recognitions that mean so much to me, This reflects the hard and consistent work that has gone into achieving this, and I’m incredibly thankful to my coaches and teammates, who were key in helping me earn this recognition. This is especially dedicated to my family and close friends, who have provided me with unconditional support throughout this journey. Thanks to DSC for giving me the opportunity to achieve these goals. There are still many triumphs to conquer, and a long way to go.”

Leading the Falcons in points this season, Moreno finished with 9 goals and 2 assists. Over the course of his two years as a Falcon, he recorded a total of 16 goals and 9 assists.

Head coach Joe Avallone praised Moreno's work ethic, “Hector has earned these awards through his dedication on and off the field. He has sacrificed and put in countless hours to represent this program, and we are extremely proud of him and his achievements this season.”
