The Daytona State College men's soccer team closed out their regular season home slate in style Saturday afternoon, earning a commanding 3-0 victory over USC Lancaster.
The Falcons set the tone early, striking in the 10th minute when Josue Youta found the back of the net off a well-placed delivery from Filippo Amaral. The early lead gave Daytona State momentum that carried throughout the match.
Amaral continued his stellar play into the second half, notching his second assist of the day in the 52nd minute. This time, his pinpoint cross found Kayoum M'Bamba, who made no mistake finishing to double the Falcons' lead.
The scoring was capped off with a team effort in the final stages. Youta turned provider, setting up Joachim Kyie for a close-range tap-in to seal the 3-0 result.
With the win, Daytona State improves to 8-1-2 on the season. Up next, the Falcons hit the road for their final non-conference matchup of the regular season — a trip to Georgia to face Georgia Military College on Wednesday at 1pm.
