Men's cross country heads to Tallahassee today for the FCSAA Region 8 Championships set for Friday, October 24th. The Falcons are in good position to defend their title for the seventh time in eigth years. Ranked sixth in the latest national poll, the Falcons are three spots ahead of Pasco Hernando State College (10th) and have had three different lead runners, freshman Caden Baker, freshman Hayden Clark, and freshman Jeffrey Belizaire. These three runners combined with freshman Luke Brewer will be looked to for control of the race. Coach Judy Wilson explained how close the next six Falcon men could be running. "If everyone sticks with it and runs together and helps each other out, our fifth to tenth runners could be within 30 seconds of each other. We'd like to see our last runner in the top fifteen of the field." In last year's race, the Falcons scored 18 points, taking the first four spots in the race. The first seven runners across the line earn All Region honors. In total, the Falcons have had 24 runners earn All Region in the seven years of the program's existence. The Falcons will be focused on grabbing as many of the All Region slots as possible and will be working on hitting predetermined checkpoint goals around the course to help them prepare for the national meet. The men's 8000 meter race is set for 8am, followed by the women's 5000 meter race at 9am. Results can be found here: https://thefcsaasports.com/championship_events/2025-26/XC
