The Falcon men's cross country team heads to the Florida State Invitational this Friday for their biggest challenge thus far. Over forty teams will be on the start line at Apalachee Regional Park, site of the 2026 World Cross Country Championships. The Falcons will get a preview of the course for the Region 8 meet set for October 24th. The team will also be running against a few of their Region 8 foes - Eastern Florida, Pasco Hernando, and Lake Sumter State College. "This is a good opportunity to race in a big field, about 400 runners, so we are going to do some pack running the first 4 to 5 kilometers and then try to pick people off that last 10 minuntes. We have had a good two weeks of training since Embry Riddle on the 13th, and we are adding Hayden Clark and Nikolas Boone back into the lineup." commented Coach Judy Wilson. The Falcons are using each race to develop their team chemistry. The men's 8k race starts at 7:40am followed by the women's 6k race at 8:10am.
