Men's Cross Country Kicks Off Season
The Daytona State men's cross country team has many new faces for this fall.
The Daytona State men's cross country team has many new faces for this fall. The squad lost five of its top seven runners to graduation last spring, and Coach Judy Wilson knew the Falcons needed to reload pretty quickly. The Falcons, ranked 20th in the preseason in the NJCAA Coaches Poll, will see what can develop with six newcomers in Caden Baker, Jeffrey Belizaire , Samuel Otero, Hayden Clark, Michael (Luke) Brewer, and William Hernandez. These six were either in the top 50 at the Florida State Cross Country Championship race last November, or placed in the top 10 of their respective event at the Floridat State Track and Field Championships in May. Combining this group with sophomores Nathan Henning, Spencer Lawrence, Nikolas Boone, and Julian Scanlon, the Falcons will look to defend their Region 8 title for the seventh time in school history.
