Daytona State men's cross country finished fourth Saturday in Fort Dodge, Iowa at the NJCAA National Cross Country Championships. The men were ranked sixth going into the meet and were able to battle for a top four finish. The snow had started falling early in the day and caused a virtual white out on the course. In these historic conditions, the Falcons placed two in the top sixteen, with freshmen Caden Baker and Jeffrey Belizaire in 15th and 16th respectively. Freshman Hayden Clark would come in 38th and sophomore Nathan Henning in 50th, all are NJCAA All Americans. The top 15 earn NJCAA All American, and the top 15% in the field earn NJCAA Coaches Association All American. Finishing out the roster for the Falcons was freshman Will Hernandez in 60th, Luke Brewer in 86th, and Nikolas Boone in 114th. "I'm really proud of these guys. We battled through these conditions. We could have said ok this isn't what we are used to running in, but they stepped it up and got out there and competed and that's all you can ask for as a coach." commented Coach Judy Wilson.
