Daytona State College women's basketball picked up a strong win at home on Tuesday night, taking down Gulf Coast State College through balanced scoring and relentless work on the glass. The Falcons poured in 93 points and dominated the boards with 56 total rebounds, setting the tone from start to finish.
The Falcons were led by Keira Mackinnon with 16 points, Azzariah Styles with 15 points, and Calise Chisholm with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Khalise Vidal also had an impressive stat line with 10 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 steals, while Jaeden Williams was very close to a triple-double, finishing with 9 points, 9 rebounds, and 10 assists. Daytona State's depth was on full display as the bench poured in 43 points, with multiple reserves making key plays on both ends of the floor.
"This was a total team effort, every player, every coach made a difference in this game", said Head Coach Russ Jackson. "I couldn't be more proud of the way the team played."
All in all, it was a great team win. Everyone contributed in one way or another, and the Falcons remain undefeated on the season. Falcons head to Niceville this weekend to take on Division 2 #12-ranked Chattahoochee Valley and Division 1 #3-ranked Northwest Florida.
