Falcons Hit 100 in Road Win at Miami Dade
Daytona State College closed out Saturday afternoon in emphatic fashion, rolling to a 100–79 road win at Miami Dade College. The Falcons came out strong with 25 points in the first quarter and matched Miami Dade’s second-quarter push to take a 50–41 lead into halftime. Daytona State then broke the game open in the third, dominating the frame 31–10 to build a 30-point cushion and put the game firmly out of reach before the final period.
On the perimeter, Catalina Roco led the way with 21 points, knocking down 5 threes on 8-of-15 shooting and stretching the Miami Dade defense all night. Jaeden Williams put together a massive near triple-double with 16 points, 14 rebounds, and 9 assists, controlling the glass and the tempo on both ends. Lamiyah Hogans added 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals, while Calise Chisholm and Raili Bast were both efficient in the paint, combining for 19 points and 10 rebounds.
Daytona State’s depth once again made a huge impact. Jayda Scorza came off the bench for 11 points and 8 rebounds, Khalise Vidal added 7 points, 8 boards, and 3 assists, and Kendall Ruise chipped in 4 points and 7 rebounds as the Falcons continued to own the glass. As a team, Daytona State finished with 100 points, 72 rebounds, and 19 assists, improving to 23–4 overall and 15–2 in Citrus Conference play while continuing to build momentum heading into the postseason. Falcons will be back at home for Sophomore night for their next conference game versus Hillsborough College on Monday, March 2nd, at 5:00 p.m.
