Balanced Effort Lifts Falcons Past Santa Fe, 80–59
Daytona State College handled business on the road Saturday afternoon, earning an 80–59 win over Santa Fe College. The Falcons were steady from start to finish, building a 19–16 lead after the first quarter and gradually widening the gap in each period. By the time the fourth quarter came around, Daytona State had full control, closing it out with a 22-point final frame to secure another conference victory on the road.
Leading the Falcons was Jaeden Williams, who put together another all-around performance with 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists, consistently getting teammates easy looks. Calise Chisholm controlled the paint with 12 points and 11 rebounds, and Kendall Ruise added 11 points and 6 boards from the guard spot. Catalina Roco filled up the stat sheet with 8 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists, Raili Bast chipped in 9 points on a perfect 5-for-5 at the line, and Lamiyah Hogans contributed 7 points and 4 assists, helping keep the offense organized. Khalise Vidal added 6 points and 6 rebounds, while several others provided hustle plays and extra possessions.
As a group, the Falcons finished with 22 assists on 31 made field goals, crashed the glass for 52 rebounds, and held Santa Fe to just 32.1% shooting from the floor. The performance showcased Daytona State’s depth, effort, and commitment to sharing the ball as they continue to produce solid outings in conference play. The Falcons move to 20-4 overall and 12-2 in conference play. They will play their next conference game at Florida Southwestern State College on Saturday, February 21st, at 2:00 p.m.
