Lawson Signs Letter of Intent with Daytona State College

The Women's Soccer Program at Daytona State College is excited to welcome Alexis Lawson for the Fall 2016 season. Lawson, a Pensacola native, joins the Falcons from her competitive club environment with the Dallas Texans where she played for Dave Kemp.
When asked about Lawson coach Jones stated "I am looking forward to working with Alexis over the next two years. She will bring a great deal of athleticism to our team and will compete for playing time at any of the wide positions. I think Alexis has a great deal of potential and her desire to improve and her infectious personality will make her a fantastic addition to the team."
Lawson is a stand out student at Pace High School where she is a member of the National Honor Society, BETA club and Foreign Language Club. Athletically she competed in both track and soccer at Pace where she has seen success in both sports. Alexis has been selected an All District performing in the triple jump and also helped her high school team win a District Championship by scoring the game winning goal against their biggest rival. Further, club team has currently qualified for the Final Four of the 2016 Florida State Cup (U18) tournament.
When asked why she chose Daytona State for her future Lawson stated: "I am excited to be a part of the first soccer program at Daytona State and am looking forward to starting the next chapter of my life by meeting new people and studying sports medicine." Coach Jones added that "Alexis is one of those people that you really enjoy working with because she has an infectious personality and really cares about her teammates. Her selflessness and commitment to our team will really strengthen the foundation of our program."
