Daytona Beach, FL – Four different Falcon's score in Group A day two pool play to push the Daytona State Falcons past the Monroe University Mustangs and into the semifinals of the 2025 NJCAA D1 Women's Soccer Championship on Tuesday afternoon at Advance Soccer Complex in Enid, OK.
Daytona opened the scoring in the 44th minute on a brilliant header by Susu Roberts into the net for her thirteenth goal of the season.
The Mustangs tied the game at one in the 54th minute, off a penalty kick from a foul in the box.
The game then turned in the Falcons favor as they netted an additional three goals in the second half. Risako Abe would score her twelfth goal of the season off an assist from Shaneil Buckleyas she buried a right footed inswinger into the far post upper 90 in the 56th minute.
Sienna Gillespie would score a top shelf left footed goal in the 77th minute off a beautiful ball from Roberts leaving the Mustang goalkeeper with no chance of getting a touch on the ball.
Buckley would finish the scoring for the Falcons on a give and go combination from fellow Jamaican, Destiny Powell in the 88th minute.
Julianna Trujillo would earn seven saves in the match for Daytona State.
The Falcons now have ten players with at least 10 points this season and have scored 89 goals with 71 assists.
Daytona State is now 18-0 heading into the Semifinals where they will face Cowley Community College on November 20th at 10:00 CST. This is the second year in a row that the Falcons have advanced out of pool play 2-0.
