Falcons Head into Second Round of Conference Play
DAYTONA BEACH, FL- The Falcons head into the second round of Suncoast Conference play with an impressive record of 6-2.
The Falcon Volleyball team will begin their second round of conference play this week against two tough opponents on the road: The Eastern Florida Titans and Miami Dade Sharks. The team was able to secure a win in the first round of play against both Suncoast Conference opponents in extra sets, however heading into round two the team will certainly have a greater challenge ahead of them as they see each team for a second time on their home courts.
“I am confident in the abilities of our team. We have a special group of young ladies who make up the Falcon Volleyball program. If we focus on what we can control, what has brought us success thus far this season, and continue to gain momentum in our play, I have zero doubt we will end this second round where we set our goals.” said Head Coach Laura Booker Anderson.
The Falcons have certainly started the 2021 season off on the right foot and look to continue their success on the second half of season. The Falcons will be back at the L. Gale Lemerand Center to take on Polk State College on Tuesday, October 5th, before facing the current #1 nationally ranked Florida Southwestern team on Saturday, October 9th, during the Daytona State Homecoming weekend festivities.
This is the first time where all Region 8 Division I volleyball programs have competed in the newly designed 9 team Suncoast Conference. The teams are all competing for the top 6 positions to advance to the FCSAA Region 8 Tournament being held at the Suncoast Arena in Fort Myers, Florida November 5-7th.
