Jacobsen Named Assistant Women’s Volleyball Coach
DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. (May 2, 2022) – After a near two-year vacancy in the position, the Falcons have officially named Kendall Jacobsen Assistant Coach of the Daytona State Women’s Volleyball program.
Jacobsen comes to Daytona State from her former position as Graduate Assistant at Frostburg State University, an NCAA Division II program located in Maryland, where she worked under her former collegiate Head Coach, Kylie Heyne. Jacobsen, a California native, was a standout volleyball athlete at Elkins and Davis College where she played both an outside hitter and defensive specialist role. “I couldn’t be more excited to have Kendall on staff!” stated Head Coach, Laura Booker Anderson. “…She [Kendall] has a passion and energy for the game that I know will only enhance our Falcon volleyball culture. Those indispensable attributes, paired with her playing and coaching knowledge, will be a game-changer for our program. I am eager to see what the future holds as we launch of the newest chapter of Falcon volleyball!”.
Jacobsen obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science and is set to complete her Master’s of Science in Sports Management this May. “I’m extremely excited and grateful for this opportunity! I can’t wait to work with the talented athletes in the Daytona State Volleyball program!” said Jacobsen of her recent hire.
With the filling of the vacant Assistant Coach position, the Falcons will head into the Fall 2022 season with a full staff and roster; a first in nearly two years for the program. “This has been a long overdue hire, but in the end, Kendall was well worth the wait.” stated Anderson.
