Bio

Laura Booker Anderson is entering her fifth season as Head Coach of the Daytona State College women’s volleyball program and her 12th overall season with the Falcons, having previously served as the program’s Assistant Coach. With nearly two decades of coaching experience and 12 years at the collegiate level, Anderson has established herself as a leader in NJCAA volleyball.

Since taking over as Head Coach, Anderson has compiled an overall record of 72-47, leading the Falcons to five Top 25 national finishes—including a program-best No. 6 national ranking—and five Top 3 finishes in the Citrus Conference and FCSAA Region VIII. In 2023, she guided Daytona State to its first-ever NJCAA Division I National Tournament appearance, marking a historic milestone for the program.

Under her leadership, the Falcons have consistently competed at a high level, defeating numerous nationally ranked opponents and earning national recognition throughout the season. Her teams have produced a long list of all-conference and all-region players, as well as multiple weekly conference award winners.

Off the court, Anderson's teams have matched their athletic success with academic excellence. Daytona State volleyball has been recognized as an AVCA All-Academic Team for five consecutive years, a reflection of the program’s strong commitment to academic achievement and overall student-athlete development.

Coach Anderson is strongly committed to preparing her student-athletes for success beyond Daytona State. She has achieved nearly 100% re-recruitment of her players to continue their careers at NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, and NAIA institutions.

As a former standout athlete at Indiana Tech from 2005–2008, Anderson helped lead the Warriors to their first-ever NAIA National Tournament appearance and a conference championship. A decorated student-athlete, she earned NAIA Academic All-American honors (2006–2008), First Team All-Conference (2008), MVP (2008), and was named Indiana Tech’s Hayashi Student-Athlete of the Year. In 2019, she was inducted into the Indiana Tech Athletic Hall of Fame alongside her 2008 teammates.

Anderson graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Recreation Therapy and was honored as the top student in both her major and the College of General Studies. She later earned her Master of Science in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University Irvine.

Prior to her full-time coaching career, Anderson worked in college admissions and recruitment and has coached for several elite travel volleyball programs in both Indiana and Florida, including Pineapple Sport ONE, DME Volleyball Academy, and Florida Elite.

Coach Booker Anderson resides in Port Orange, Florida with her husband, Josh, and their three children - Oliver, Layla and Lainey.
