The Falcon women's cross country team headed to the Border Clash this past weekend and came away with a team runner up finish. The Falcons scored 64 points, 40 points behind winner Flagler College. Thirteen teams competed at this year's Border Clash, a battle between Florida and Georgia teams. Five other Region 8 teams were in the field and the Falcons came out on top. "This was a chance to see some teams from our Region and how we will stack up. It was really tough conditions, with a 90 degree temp, and a 'feels like' of 96, so not great running conditions. I'm excited for this group, they stuck to the plan and did not go out hard and still came away with the Runner Up plaque", commmented Judy Wilson, Falcon head coach. The team was led again by freshman Emma Turner, and the #2 runner was freshman Kyleigh Halloran. Both finished in the top 10, with Turner 3rd and Halloran 8th. "Emma and Kyleigh are really doing well. They had a good summer and it will be exciting to watch them improve each week." Wilson said.
