The Daytona State Falcons finished first among junior college teams at the Seminole Invitational this past Friday. The Falcons finished 24th out of 36 teams, in a field made up of mostly NCAA Division I and II teams. The Falcons were 150 points ahead of the next junior college team. The top five Falcons finished in the top ten among junior college runners, which bodes well going into the month of October with the Region 8 meet back on the same course on October 24th. Freshman Emma Turner was the top Falcon, breaking the 24 minute mark for the 6000 meter race with a time of 23:57. "This was a solid race for Emma. It was very humid and this distance is 1000 meters longer, so it is a real test to see how people will handle it. We did very well as a team and I'm proud of them for finishing where they did as a team," commented Coach Judy Wilson. Rounding out the Falcon top five were sophomore Brianna Crawford, freshman Kyleigh Halloran, sophomore Tiffany Cox, and freshman Kennedy Flores.
