DSC Splits Home Series with FSCJ
Game 1: Daytona State 8, Florida State College at Jacksonville 0 (5 innings)
Daytona State delivered a dominant performance at home, defeating FSCJ 8-0 in five innings.
The Falcons wasted no time getting started in the first inning when Destiny Horcajo worked her way into scoring position before Aurielle Reavis stole home, giving the Falcons a quick 1-0 edge. They added another in the second after Juleah Patterson reached on an error that allowed Gabby Giugliano to score, extending the advantage to 2-0.
Daytona State broke the game open in the third, plating five runs on timely hitting and aggressive baserunning. Alexa Edmands singled home a run, Maggie Castaneda followed with an RBI single, and Nyree James drove in another on a groundout. Reavis capped the inning with a two-RBI single down the left-field line to push the lead to 7-0.
The Falcons added an insurance run in the fifth when Ashley Bert reached on an error, allowing Patterson to score and secure the run-rule victory.
Daytona State finished with 10 hits and applied constant pressure, capitalizing on four FSCJ errors while remaining aggressive on the bases with three stolen bases.

Unser faced just 17 batters and controlled the game from start to finish, securing the shutout and preserving the no-hitter in the run-rule win.
Game 2: Florida State College at Jacksonville 3, Daytona State 2
Daytona State came up just short in the series finale, falling 3-2 to FSCJ despite an early lead at home.
FSCJ pushed across a run in the opening inning on an RBI single by Corinna Cioffi to take a 1-0 advantage. The Falcons answered immediately in the bottom half. Alexa Edmands delivered a two-RBI double to right field, scoring Azlynn Gomes and Juleah Patterson to give Daytona State a 2-1 lead.
The game settled into a pitchers' duel from there, with Leala Kloewer keeping FSCJ off the scoreboard through six innings. However, the visitors rallied in the seventh. Haley Ross tripled to right-center to tie the game at 2-2 and later scored on a passed ball, giving FSCJ the 3-2 edge.
Daytona State threatened throughout the contest, drawing seven walks, but stranded nine runners and was unable to push across the tying run in the final frame.
