Falcons Take Care of Business on the Road

The Falcons wasted little time getting on the board, as Juleah Patterson led off the game with a double and later came around to score, giving Daytona State an early lead. The Falcons added another run in the second inning when Maggie Castaneda singled and was later brought home on a ground ball to second base by Riley Makousky to build a 2-0 advantage. Daytona State broke the game open in the third inning, capitalizing on a few passed balls and timely situational hitting to plate four runs and extend the lead to 6-0.
Hillsborough managed to get on the board in the fourth, but the Falcons continued to apply pressure offensively. Daytona State added single runs in the fourth when Alexa Edmands singled to bring in Azlynn Gomes, and again in the fifth when Nyree James doubled to score Riley Makousky, before putting the game out of reach with three more runs in the sixth.

The Falcons jumped out to an early lead, scoring three runs in the first inning after back-to-back leadoff walks by Juleah Patterson and Aurielle Reavis set the tone. Jolie Perillo opened the inning with a walk and later scored on a single by Reavis, Gabby Giugliano followed with a two-run double to bring home Reavis and Azlynn Gomes.
